PADI Basic Mermaid Instructor
The PADI Basic Mermaid Instructor course is perfect for those who want to work with children and adults who are new to mermaid tails and monofins. It also allows instructors to bring mermaiding to more landlocked or remote areas, since there’s no need for an open water environment. This course will only certify you to teach Discover Mermaid and PADI Basic Mermaid - it will not certify you to teach PADI Mermaid or PADI Advanced Mermaid.
Pricing: $800 - base price, does not include any prerequisite courses.
Prerequisites: you must complete PADI Basic Mermaid, Mermaid, and Advanced Mermaid before taking the PADI Mermaid Basic Instructor course. If you would like to do Basic Mermaid, Mermaid, and Advanced Mermaid all at once, click here.
Candidates must be at least 18 years old, and will need an EFR Primary and Secondary Care certification (or qualifying equivalent). We do not provide this certification.
Candidates are also required to assist with one Discover Mermaid course, and two confined water sessions from the PADI Mermaid program. This can be done with us, or another instructor. There is no additional fee if done with us.
Please note that this is a real diving course with real consequences if safety precautions are not observed. By purchasing this course, you are confirming that you are capable of completing the requirements for this course, and you agree to the policies outlined in our policy page.
